One of the most popular questions we get asked from new and perspective customers are “why do you take the washing back to your premises rather than doing it in the home?”. In amongst a wealth of in-home ironing services this is indeed a valid question. Firstly, at Iron Maids we use a range of industrial steam presses. These offer a higher pressure steam jets that offer a far greater range of temperatures which are far more controllable than standard domestic appliances. Although your trusty Hitachi steam iron at home does a great job on your underwear and tea towels it cannot compete with our presses on heavier cottons and fabrics such as denim.

The second reason is that of Health and Safety. Many of the in-home services will insist on a disclaimer being signed as part of the contract  stating that any loss or damage must be claimed on your own home insurance rather than their liability insurance. Not only are your clothes at risk but if someone injures themselves inside your home, you as the home owner could be liable to pay compensation for failing to ensure the health and safety of the individual involved.  

By taking your items to our premises we are able to press your items to a professional standard, quality check the items before being returned to you and our staff and your items are fully insured by us should the worst happen. We can thus provide you with a professional, prompt service and peace of mind knowing that your items will be individually wrapped and ready to wear as soon as they are delivered to you.
